Photography

I have been interested in photography for a long time, most likely because my father, as his father before him, was very interested in it. But the real starting point for my interest was in 1992 where a friend and I took an evening class on photography.  We where shooting in black and white with old analog cameras. Focus was done by guessing the distance to the target and we had to develop both the negatives and the pictures by hand. A cumbersome but very educational process.

But as I did not have a camera at that time I stopped taking pictures when the class ended. In 2000 I had finished my education, gotten a job, and could suddenly afford a camera. So I bought my first SLR, a Pentax MZ 7 with which I have taken a lot of pictures, but in the end the price of getting colorfilm developed ended up dissuading me from beeing experimental and eventually the camera was replaced by a point and shoot digital.

However having been used to a proper viewfinder, fast zoom and the like, I couldn't really get used to taking pictures with the point and shoot and once again didn't take as many pictures as I had hoped.

All this changed in 2008 when I became a father, a very good excuse to get a digital SLR. I now have a Nikon D80 and have taken around 4000 pictures in the first year.
